■ Commuting
The house is a 7-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station on the JR Chuo Line (Rapid) and the JR Chuo-Sobu Line. Kichijoji is the next station, and you can go to Nakano in 8 minutes, Shinjuku in 12 minutes, Yotsuya in 17 minutes and Ochanomizu in 22 minutes, all without changing trains. Trains also run through to the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, so it's 18 minutes to Waseda, 24 minutes to Iidabashi and 27 minutes to Otemachi. Ogikubo Station (where you can also use the Marunouchi Line) is a 15-minute walk. Students attending Waseda University, the University of Tokyo, Sophia University, ICU and other schools also live here.
■ The neighborhood
Around Nishi-Ogikubo Station there are lots of restaurants, variety shops, bookstores and coffee shops. The house is in a quiet residential area, so you can relax once you're home. Within walking distance there is an old-fashioned public bath (Tengu-yu), and about a 20-minute walk from the station is Zenpukuji Park, with a pond and a stream.
■ Your room and shared spaces
The rooms are private rooms of about 7 tatami mats, and every room has a balcony. A bed, desk, chair, closet, air conditioner, refrigerator, curtains and lighting are provided.
The shared spaces include a dining room with an island kitchen, a living room, a lounge, a working room, a fitness room, a soundproof room, and a courtyard terrace with a wooden deck. Showers are separate for men and women, and there are also women-only toilets and washing machines and dryers. The building is a five-story reinforced concrete building with an elevator. It has an auto-lock entrance and security cameras. There are also a parcel delivery box, personal mailboxes and free bicycle parking.
■ Costs and contract
The rent includes the rental fee for the furniture and appliances. The monthly common service fee covers internet, gas, water and electricity, maintenance costs, part of the fire insurance, and cleaning of the shared areas. The minimum contract period is 6 months; if you're a student, please talk to us.

Green Share Nishi-Ogikubo welcomed many new residents between March and April, so we held a welcome party themed around bringing food from your home country.
Our staff prepared temaki (hand-rolled) sushi, and residents brought Singaporean chicken rice, pizza, salami, homemade desserts and more. Over 25 residents joined, and those trying hand-rolled sushi for the first time had fun making their own.
Even among people meeting for the first time, food gets the conversation going naturally. -
