In this share house, the showers, toilets and other bathroom areas are separate for men and women, so women can also live here with peace of mind. ■ Commuting
The house is a 4-minute walk along flat streets from Nishi-Chofu Station on the Keio Line. It's 2 minutes to Chofu, 8 minutes to Fuchu, 18 minutes to Meidaimae, 26 minutes to Shinjuku, 32 minutes to Shibuya and 37 minutes to Kichijoji. The University of Electro-Communications is about a 10-minute walk away, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies is about 30 minutes by bus. Students from both universities live here.

■ Daily shopping
About a 5-minute walk from Nishi-Chofu Station is a supermarket (Coop Mirai) open until 11 p.m. Around the station there are also convenience stores, a post office, a drugstore and a Lawson Store 100, so buying daily necessities is easy. The station is in a quiet residential area where you can live calmly. Ajinomoto Stadium is about a 10-minute walk from the house.

There are 27 rooms in total, all lockable private rooms of 5.9–8.9 tatami mats (9.5–13 ㎡). A bed, desk, chair, closet, air conditioner, refrigerator, curtains and lighting are provided, and each room has a balcony.
The shared spaces include a living room, a dining room, kitchens, a working room and a courtyard. There are three kitchens, so they're easy to use even when dinner times overlap. There are three shower rooms each for men and women, as well as women-only toilets, washing machines and dryers, and a laundry lounge. The building has an auto-lock entrance, and there are a parcel delivery box, personal mailboxes and free bicycle parking.

■ Costs and contract
The monthly common service fee includes internet, gas, water and electricity. The minimum contract period is 6 months.

Before summer ended, we held a BBQ welcome party in the garden at Green Share Chofu +garden. Many residents moved in this summer, so it was a good chance for everyone to meet.

Rain had been forecast for days, but the sky stayed cloudy and the party went ahead. When the charcoal wouldn't light, residents stepped in to help. People played with water guns, shared a carved watermelon fruit bowl, and finished the night with Japanese hand-held sparklers, which were new to many of them.

With a garden on site, events like this are easy to hold right at home.

Every room has a balcony where you can hang your laundry. From some rooms, you can see cherry blossoms from the window.
The interior and furniture differ from room to room. Some rooms have calm colors, and others are furnished with dark wood furniture. Room sizes vary too, so you can choose one that fits the amount of things you have.
