This share house is a good fit for people who want easy access to central Tokyo while living in a quiet residential area. It is a mid-sized house with 24 rooms in total. The entrance has an auto-lock, and the whole building is non-smoking.

■ Commuting
The house is a 5-minute walk from Fujimigaoka Station on the Keio Inokashira Line. The Inokashira Line connects Kichijoji and Shibuya: it's 6 minutes to Kichijoji, 11 minutes to Meidaimae, 14 minutes to Shimokitazawa and 19 minutes to Shibuya. If you change to the Keio Line at Meidaimae, you can reach Shinjuku in 21 minutes. The University of Tokyo's Komaba Campus and Meiji University's Izumi Campus are also along the line, so it's an easy place for students to commute from.

■ The neighborhood
Around the station there are a 24-hour supermarket, convenience stores and a bento shop, so shopping is easy even on days when you get home late. There are several parks nearby, and the Kanda River flows through the area. Even though you're in Tokyo, it's a calm place where you can take a walk among greenery on your days off.

■ Your room and shared spaces
Each private room comes with a bed, desk, chair, storage shelves, lighting, curtains, refrigerator and air conditioner. The interior and furniture have a different feel in each room.
The shared spaces include a kitchen with kitchenware, a living room and a working space. You can use the living room when you want to eat or relax with others, and the working space when you want to focus quietly. The toilets and showers on the 2nd and 3rd floors are women-only. There are also washing machines and dryers, personal mailboxes, a parcel delivery box and free bicycle parking.

■ Costs and contract
The monthly common service fee includes internet, gas, water and electricity. The minimum contract period is 6 months, and the house is for people in their 20s and 30s.

The hills were covered in blue nemophila flowers that seemed to run right into the sky, and we took plenty of photos together. Housemates here get along well enough to plan outings beyond the house.
