A Town with Peace Amidst the Bustle: Shinjuku - Living Environment and Share Houses

In the Shinjuku area, there are some larger share houses built specifically for that purpose, but many are small-scale renovations of private homes or medium-scale renovations of dormitories.

Shinjuku is said to be the busiest district in the East. Coupled with the size of the surrounding entertainment district, it shows a chaotic bustle every day. Also, as it is called the Shinjuku Sub-center, the group of skyscrapers on the west side, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, boasts a majesty worthy of the center of Japan.

Shinjuku Station is served by numerous lines, including the JR Yamanote, Chuo, Chuo-Sobu, Chuo Main, Saikyo, and Shonan-Shinjuku lines, as well as the Keio Line, Odakyu Line, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, and Toei Oedo Line. Furthermore, the Busta Shinjuku terminal building, which consolidates highway bus stops and taxi stands, has been completed, and its convenience is immeasurable. As the name suggests, Shinjuku was established the year after the shogunate was opened in Edo, and it began as Naito-Shinjuku, a post station set up in the Genroku era on the Koshu Kaido, which still runs east-west through Shinjuku Station. Although Shinjuku has now developed into a bustling city, there are many private homes remaining in the east exit area, making it a down-to-earth town, and it seems that many small-scale share houses are renovations of these types of homes♪
