Ikebukuro is a bustling district on par with Shinjuku and Shibuya. In recent years, with the increase in shops selling anime goods and doujinshi around Sunshine 60, it has become known as a center for otaku culture, second only to Akihabara.

Originally known as an educational district due to the presence of a former normal school and Rikkyo University, the area now features a unique layout with the Seibu Department Store on the east side and the Tobu Department Store on the west side, alongside a massive entertainment district. However, once you move away from the station, the atmosphere of the former educational district remains strong, with small shops and residential areas spreading out. It is also widely known, even among non-literary fans, that Edogawa Ranpo lived in a house adjacent to Rikkyo University. Local shopping streets even sell products inspired by Ranpo to boost business.

Of course, transportation is excellent. Ikebukuro Station is served by the JR Yamanote, Saikyo, and Shonan-Shinjuku lines, as well as the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi, Yurakucho, and Fukutoshin lines, with the Seibu Ikebukuro and Tobu Tojo lines starting here. You can surely enjoy the chaotic bustle around the station and the somewhat nostalgic streetscapes from a share house♪

Share houses in the Akabane area are mostly small to medium-sized renovations of private homes, mansions, or apartments; there are no large-scale ones.

Akabane Station is served by the JR Saikyo, Akabane, Shonan-Shinjuku, Keihin-Tohoku, Utsunomiya, and Takasaki lines. About a 10-minute walk away is the Tokyo Metro Akabane-Iwabuchi Station. Using the JR lines, you can reach Ikebukuro in about 10 minutes, Shinjuku in about 15 minutes, and Tokyo in about 20 minutes. The recent opening of the Ueno-Tokyo Line, which connects to Tokyo Station in just two stops, has also been a hot topic. Additionally, using the Tokyo Metro makes travel to city centers like Roppongi very easy.

Akabane borders Saitama Prefecture across the Arakawa River to the north and was once called the 'Northern Gateway to Tokyo.' There are two large shopping streets that retain a Showa-era feel, and the Akabane Ichibangai Shopping Street on the east side, in particular, is lined with restaurants and izakayas, creating an impressive landscape that is also known as a tourist spot. With the progress of redevelopment, large supermarkets have appeared around the station, and the atmosphere is gradually changing.

Share houses in Nerima include some large-scale renovations of apartment buildings, but most are small to medium-sized renovations of private residences or homes.

Nerima is a very large ward, and railway lines mainly run east-west. Lines serving the area include the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, Seibu Yurakucho Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line (which shares a route with the Yurakucho Line), Toei Oedo Line, Seibu Toshima Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, and Seibu Shinjuku Line. Nerima Station is served by the Toei Oedo Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, Seibu Toshima Line, and Seibu Yurakucho Line. The Seibu Ikebukuro Line offers through-service to the Tokyu Toyoko Line and Minatomirai Line via the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line and Seibu Yurakucho Line, making it extremely convenient. Additionally, many bus routes connect the various railway lines, allowing for stress-free travel in all directions.

Except for the area around the station, quiet residential streets spread out, and there are many large parks. In recent years, due to the convenience brought by the opening of the Oedo and Fukutoshin lines, apartment construction has been booming.

Share houses in the Itabashi area are mostly small to medium-sized renovations of private homes or apartments; there are no large-scale ones. There are also some semi-apartment style properties with kitchens in each room, and because there is a relatively large number of properties, it is an area with a wide range of choices.

The Itabashi ward is large, and a portion bordering the Arakawa River is adjacent to Saitama Prefecture. Roughly speaking, the area is served by the JR Saikyo Line (Itabashi Station) in the east; the Toei Mita Line (Shin-Itabashi, Itabashi-honcho, Shimura-sakaue, Nishidai, and the terminal Nishi-takashimadaira stations) in the north; and the Tobu Tojo Line (Oyama, Naka-itabashi, Tokiwadai, and Narimasu stations) in the south. The areas along the Tojo Line are not elevated, so railway crossings and shopping streets are part of the scenery, and everywhere is full of energy. Among the lined-up shops, there are many restaurants rumored to be hidden gems. Since the Tojo Line and Mita Line are not far apart, walking between them is also possible. While there are areas without large supermarkets, the shopping streets are well-developed, making it a stress-free area to live in.
