Most share houses in Akihabara are small-scale, renovated homes or private clinics, though some medium-sized ones exist, converted from former shops.
Akihabara Station is served by the JR Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku, and Chuo-Sobu lines, the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, and the Tsukuba Express. You can reach Tokyo Station in just 3 minutes and Shinjuku in about 15 minutes by JR, and the Hibiya Line provides direct access to Ginza and Roppongi. The Tsukuba Express offers easy access to the Tokyo suburbs. Bus routes run to Ochanomizu and Kasai, and the highway bus terminal offers direct service to Haneda Airport, Fuji-Q Highland, Tokyo Disney Resort, and destinations in the Hokuriku and Kansai regions.
Once known as Akiba-no-hara, Akihabara developed into an "Electric Town" after the war. In recent years, it has become known as the center of subculture, represented by anime and games.
If you want to fully enjoy the endless charm of "Akiba," which has become increasingly livable, a share house is highly recommended!
