The Majority: Meeting people is an inevitable part of share house life.

The survey results show that many women are indeed looking forward to the social possibilities of living in a share house.

  • "If it's a co-ed share house, I definitely look forward to meeting people. I think it's a great way to make connections." (20s/Female/Part-time worker)
  • "It's certainly a place for meeting people, and you might just find someone you really click with." (20s/Female/Student)
Heart

Many respondents feel that living in a shared space with both men and women naturally leads to new encounters. It’s fair to say that meeting people through a share house has become a well-established way to socialize. Since residents often share similar values or personalities, the chances of building a successful relationship may be higher than you think.

Looking for a fun life: Waiting for the right connection.

Here is what some women had to say about the various connections they hope to make!

  • "Beyond romance, I'm looking for life-changing connections—like friends I can talk to about anything or even professional partners!" (20s/Female/Office worker)
  • "Of course I am. You get to know people so quickly in a share house, so I think you can really take those relationships seriously." (20s/Female/Office worker)

Many women are looking for more than just romantic partners; they are open to making friends and expanding their social circles. A share house is the perfect environment to meet a wide variety of people, which can be the catalyst for a more exciting and fulfilling life.

Focusing on savings: Not looking for romance.

On the other hand, here are the voices of women who aren't looking for romance in a share house.

  • "I'm only here to save on living costs, so I'm not looking for any romantic encounters." (30s/Female/Part-time worker)
  • "It's just a place to live, so I think it's better to keep romance out of it." (30s/Female/Office worker)
Enjoying solitude

For some, the primary goal is simply to save money, and they have no intention of seeking out new relationships. Everyone has different reasons for choosing a share house, and there is no pressure to socialize if you don't want to. It is perfectly fine to live at your own pace.

Preferring privacy: Not interested in deep involvement.

Here is what women who prefer to keep to themselves had to say:

  • "I'm more anxious about interacting with people than I am interested in meeting them. I don't have the energy to think about romance." (40s/Female/Part-time worker)
  • "It's not so much about 'meeting people' as it is about feeling like I have to be too careful around others. I just don't get those kinds of feelings." (20s/Female/Unemployed)
No need for new encounters

Some people simply aren't comfortable with deep social involvement. You don't have to force yourself to be someone you're not; it's best to live in a way that makes you comfortable. Since you have your own private room, you can easily maintain your own boundaries and enjoy your space.

It all comes down to your approach to social interaction.

Our survey shows that more than half of women are open to the social possibilities of share house living.

However, your perspective largely depends on how comfortable you are with social interaction. It’s clear that those who are outgoing and adapt easily to new environments are more likely to be looking for new connections.
