Ueno and Asakusa offer a calm downtown living environment, and if you include Kinshicho and Shin-Koiwa along the Sobu Line and Kasai on the Tozai Line, rents vary even within the same Taito, Sumida and Edogawa areas. The city-center side around Ueno and Akihabara tends to be pricier, while the Shin-Koiwa and Kasai areas tend to be relatively affordable.
